Mount Hanuman Tibba Expedition

17 Days

Overview

The Hanuman Tiva expedition travels north from Manali. At 5940m, Hanuman Tiva is the highest peak of the Pir Panjal range. Hanuman Tiva is an ideal mountain for climbers with some climbing skills and is popular for its relatively low altitude and technical experience. 1912 General C.G. Bruce, the first mountaineer to explore the area, first visited Hanumantiva (then Westerners called it Solangweisshorn).

The approach to the mountain begins with a drive from Manali to Dundi, passing the popular summer destination of Solannara. Head along the Beas River to the meadows of Bakartach and start trekking to the Taintu Valley, which is difficult to negotiate depending on the season and weather. Once at the summit, you’ll pass through boulder fields and glaciers around the mountain, scaling the south face.
