Overview

In India, travelers are well-known for visiting mosques and graveyards. Both the Muslim religion and old heritage architecture can be experienced there. In India, people of all faiths had faith in the Dargah and would travel there to receive their blessings in full. Additionally, the monuments, forts, mosques, tombs, and dargah tell their particular locations’ histories. Additionally, tourists come to these locations in order to learn about and experience the history associated with famous Kings and Sufi Saints during their formative years.

The Sufi saint Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya’s dargah (mausoleum) is Nizamuddin Dargah (1238–1325 CE). Every week, thousands of pilgrims visit the dargah in Delhi’s Nizamuddin West neighborhood. The site is also well-known for its evening sessions of qawwali devotional music. The descendants of Nizamuddin Auliya oversee the entire operation of Dargah Sharif.
The tomb of Nizamuddin has a white dome. Following Nizamuddin’s death in 1325, Muhammad bin Tughluq built the main structure. Firuz Shah Tughlaq later repaired the structure and hung four golden cups from the recesses of the dome. The marble balustrade that surrounds the grave was donated by Nawab Khurshid Jah of Hyderabad’s legendary Paigah Family. Faridun Khan constructed the current dome in 1562. Over the years, the structure has undergone numerous additions. The dome has a diameter of about six meters.
