Overview
There are admirers everywhere for an arid, chilly desert trekking region that provides the best views of the Ladakh and Zanskar Ranges. Due to its abundance of Ladakh’s native culture, it is also referred to as a “tea-house trek”. While on this trek, you can also see the 21000-foot Kang Yissay and the 2008-foot Stok Kangri peaks.
The promising attractions that can be found while traveling the Markha Valley trek route include Hemis National Park, Gondola La, and Kongmaru La. The waist-deep river crossing that we use to cross the Markha River and get to the trails leading to Buddhist villages and rock formations is another amusing aspect of this trek. Markha Valley is more accessible to trekkers due to its close proximity to Leh.
